Water Awareness Spread Among Local Residents

SUBANG JAYA-Residents of SS15 are educated about the importance of water and ways to conserve water at a "Water Awareness" campaign held at the park located at SS15 by the Environmental Protection Society Malaysia yesterday.

"It impoartant that every single individual are aware of the current water crisis and unite to solve this problem", said Mr. Nithi Nesadurai, President of Environmental Protection Society Malaysia during his speech.

At the campaign, the demonstartion of an innovation way of harvesting rain water is showed to the residents.

Several ways of saving water is explained to the locals. For example, harvesting rain water, reusing recycled water for other purposes and check leakage of pipes.

The campaign also educates the people that not only saving water could save the environment but also helps to save money.

The founder of Environmental Protection Society Malaysia, Gurmit Singh explains that "Just a few simple tips that can help you save a lot of money and also the environment, it is just like killing two birds with one stone".

The residents are very interested in the campaign where they are cooperative in participating in the activities held on that day.

"Plant A Tree" Attracts Attention From Students

SUBANG JAYA-Over 300 students gathered at the "Plant A Tree" event by the Environment Society of INTI International College Subang where each individual planted a tree under their name in order to have achieve a green environment yesterday at the college's compound. 

"I am happy that we have a great response from our college students. When everyone attend this event, we can inform them more about the environment", said David Loo, President of Environment Society.

Total of 350 different trees have been planted around college to support the 'Go Green' concept.

The environment society of INTI International College Subang decided to create awareness among the college students on the importance of planting trees as many trees had been cut off to give space for developments. 

David said that the environment society decided to make this event as a annual event and plans to have more events concerning the environment in the near future.
